Thierry Malet started to study the piano at the age of 7 at the Paris Conservatoire where he took courses in harmony and composition .But it was to be a further 10 years before he discove ed his true passion at Claude Bolling's school : writing film scores .
In order to gain further understanding of musical acoustics , he attended the top school of "Ecole centrale des arts et métiers "and developped the first MIDI digital guitar at the Belgim RTBF Laboratory.
He completed his education 5 years later with a doctorate in bioacoustics simulation at Sheffield Uninversity in England.
Confident in his experience , he returned to France in 1994 and was soon to compose a number of original scores for television broadcasts and documentaries before going to compose scores for French and American Cinemas.
In 1975 he created his own executive musical company to gain a perfect understanding of the recording business .
In 2005, thanks to the musical film Imago , which won the camera d'or at the Cannes film Festival , he won thwe SACEM prize for the best musical score and was nominated for an Oscar .
At a press conference during the Cannes film festival , he annnounced the release of a revolutionart 3D spatialization system specifically dedicated to the recording of the symphonic music for films .
Though TM is celebrating 16 years'collaboration with the city of Prague philarmonic orchestra , he has devoted himself mainly to composing music for more than 100 documentaries and 200 films for TV and Cinema
